History Curriculum

The OCS History-Social Studies Department is focused on developing our young students as 'world citizens' living and growing up in the United States. Classroom activities include team discussion, group projects, panel presentations, guest speakers, field trips and other assorted events centered on bringing history alive in the classroom. Elementary students study the basic concepts of family, community and society. In the middle school, students learn about the foundations of history through the ancient civilizations, medieval and early modern times and focus on the United States in their final year.
