Dear Parents and Students,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuhu
Welcome to second grade!!!! It is a pleasure having your child in our class. We believe that each child is a gift to us by Allah (SWT) and it is up to the parents and teachers to see that he/she gets the best of nurturing guidance that will help him/her grow up into an intelligent, productive person and a good Muslim as a whole. We can achieve these goals by:
• Assisting students in the moral and ethical development of their character and personality.
• Exceeding the curricula and California Standards requirements for the grade level.
• Helping students in developing interpersonal skills and leadership qualities so they will grow up to be responsible, productive citizens and good role models for other Muslims.
• Training students to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in written form.
• Using newspapers and current events to develop world awareness.
In order to achieve all of the above we need your cooperation and support. We look forward to meeting you and working with you throughout the year.

Assalamalaikum
Welcome to Second Grade!!! Please make sure that your child brings the following supplies to class on the first day of school. Please label each item belonging to your child including his/her backpack, lunch box, and sweater so they can be identified when found.
1. Two composition books
2. Two folders with pockets
3. A box of 50 pencils
4. Two erasers
5. A box of crayons
6. A box of markers
7. One pair of small round tip scissors
8. Two glue sticks
9. A pencil pouch
10. Three Kleenex tissue boxes
