Principal's Message

Dear Parents of Orange Crescent School Students:

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

On behalf of the Orange Crescent School community, I welcome you to the 2009-2010 school year, in which we celebrate our great school’s 25th anniversary. Having the highest level of accreditation status of six years clear, by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Orange Crescent School offers various programs that promote high academic achievement through a rigorous curriculum, and character development. With your continuous support and involvement, we will be able to accomplish great success in the Amana that you have entrusted us in, your children. Our confidence in our establishment is deep-rooted in the levels of education and outstanding graduates, who have continued on with great successes for the past twenty-five years.

We are devoted to working vigorously in continuing to make Orange Crescent School, the pride of our community and a model school for others to emulate. Our vision remains the same- in striving to achieve academic and moral excellence, in a nurturing Islamic environment. We recognize that it is crucial in the total development of our students, that they gain the necessary skills that will allow them to be optimal and productive citizens in society as Muslim-Americans. As such in addition to our curriculum, students are enriched with schoolwide ESLRS (Expected Schoolwide Learning Results): consisting of Islamic Identity, Scholastic Distinction, Local and Global Connectedness, and Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility.

With our dedicated staff and faculty, we are committed to providing the essential tools that molds our students to be self-confident in their beliefs, while maintaining the continuity in their pride of Islamic traditions. We welcome your collaboration and look forward to a wonderful year with Allah’s (swt) guidance.

This handbook serves as a guide and road map for our school. It contains general information and important policies that govern our school. This handbook serves as a type of mutual contract, the bond of our alliance in the care of children, outlining the basis of responsibilities and rules that are carried out in our school. I encourage you to read through it carefully, and refer to it frequently throughout the year, as its contents are very important and will answer most questions in regards to OCS policies. Please visit our school website often for current school news, pictures, event information, and other pertinent matters throughout the year.

With Sincere Best Wishes,

Nehad Ahmed
