 Uniform Information

The uniform policy is designed to support student success and respect.  Maintaining a good, clean appearance is part of the sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh). Please keep in mind some of the following additional requirements:

GIRLS:

Al-Amirah Plain White Two Piece Scarves only (no wrap arounds allowed).  Hijabs mandatory grades 4th and higher.  School will be working with distributor to sell some at school.

No Skinny Jeans.  Beige pants from American Casual only.

No multi-colored or neon shoes.  Plain colored shoes that match the school uniform, preferrably brown, white, navy, or black. No mix and match shoes please.  Running shoes for PE can have some color but still needs to avoid bright colors if possible.

White socks on Fridays only.

White Blouses with OCS stamp only. 

Jackets should be preferrably Navy Blue.  Other allowable colors are maroon, beige, white or black that match the uniform.  Please be cognizant that bright neon colored multi patterned jackets do not match the uniform and make a poor impression of our students. The school will be offering various sweatshirts for purchase.

Additionally, no ripped pants or shirts, no writing on the pants or any kind of altercation to the uniform.  Our students can express their artistic style and talents on paper, not their clothing. 

PE uniforms must be worn on PE days for 1st grade to 8th grade. No shorts and non-uniform t-shirts allowed.

No jewelry or nail polish during school time please.  Watches are okay.

BOYS:

Boys uniform requirements is the same as last years.

Friday uniform with Navy Vest required. 

White shirts need to be tucked in and ties properly worn.

Shoes need to be also plain solid colors.  Proper PE shoes need to be worn during PE days and avoid bright colored running shoes.

LOGO:

You will notice that some of the uniforms have the old logo and some have the new logo.  We are slowly transitioning out of the old logo; however, all shirts and outfits with any version of the logo is acceptable as long as the shirt, jacket, vest, sweatshirt or pants is still presentable to wear.  Shirts will not have the new logo on them until American Casual runs out of the current stock which may not be until the end of the year.

PRESCHOOL INFORMATION:

 Orange Crescent Montessori has programs that run year round. The summer session will be an optional component, offered for those who would like to continue sending their children in summer. We will be following the same Montessori curriculum augmented with Arabic and Islamic instruction, and will include some extra outdoor activities for summer.
